325/95 R 24 X WORKS XZ TL 162K 325/95 R 24 X WORKS XD TL 162K

Michelin are in the process of replacing their 12.00 R 24 XZY 156K & 12.00 R 24 XDY 156G to the newly developed 325/95 R 24 XWORKS XZ TL 162K & 325/95 R 24 XWORKS XD TL 162K tyres respectively. The new equivalents have been developed after a great deal of research and field trials, incorporating the most modern concepts in tyre technology. It may be worthwhile mentioning here that the new tyres have been field tested extensively in Oman between 2005 and 2007. The final product developed by Michelin and due in Oman for launch in January 2008, incorporates the following characteristics:

  • New architecture resulting in better mileage.
  • Load rating increased from 156 to 162, thus making the new tyres stronger than the ones they are replacing as well as capable of carrying higher loads.
  • The speed rating of 325/95 R 24 XWORKS XD TL has been increased to ‘K’ as compared to ‘G’ for the earlier type XDY. This would ensure better heat dissipation properties and hence, longer life.
  • 325/95 R 24 XWORKS XZ TL 162K has 5% more tread depth than type XZY whereas 325/95 R 24 XWORKS XD TL 162K has 10% more tread depth than XDY. The tread depth has been increased due to more rubber which would lead to better mileage.
  • All the points listed above as well as our field trials have proved that the new generation tyres will yield substantially more mileage than the types they are replacing
